The Valley View site is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Engineer in a discrete parts manufacturing plant responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for discrete parts production.
This role involves improving production efficiency, quality, and safety by collaboration with production teams, quality assurance and R&D to ensure that manufacturing processes meet industry standards and customer specifications. The Engineer will be part of the site’s Process Safety Management (PSM) team, contributing to site initiatives, supporting capital projects, and collaborating on continuous improvement efforts alongside the EHS, Engineering, and Technology teams. A focus on digitization, automation transformation, and sustainability initiatives will be essential aspects of this position.

The Valley View Site in Cleveland, OH, is the premier manufacturing location for Vespel® Parts and Shapes within those industries.
Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:
- Conduct work activities and demonstrate leadership behavior consistent with DuPont Core Values.
- Use process expertise to ensure facility and personal adherence to regulatory, company policies, good manufacturing and safety requirements.
- Provide daily technical support to Operations (occasional off-shift/weekends when needed) including process optimization, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and risk analysis.
- Assist with the implementation of solutions to improve processes (safety, yield, uptime, capacity release)
- Monitor manufacturing equipment performance; assessing reliability of equipment, identifying failures and causes of failures, and recommending solutions
- Provide technical leadership and support to plant capital projects, including design, capital justification, PSM, and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with production management to develop production strategies and systems that improve manufacturing performance.
- Mentoring and influential leadership of production resources
- Work with Commercial and Quality teams to respond to customer inquiries and/or quality notifications.
- Interface with Technology and Business resources to develop innovations and coordinate product rollouts to the facility.
- Develop, maintain, and improve operating procedures
Requirements:
- B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree will receive the highest consideration.
- At least one year of experience in a manufacturing engineering role or related industry required.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and quality assurance methodologies.
- Proficient in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex process and production issues using multiple disciplined teams and data driven analysis.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/tasks, adapt to changing conditions and balance a “big picture” focus with detailed execution.
