Geotechnical Engineer

ALLWEST is a 100% employee-owned geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, construction materials testing, and special inspections firm serving the Inland Northwest and beyond. We have offices located in Hayden, Lewiston and Meridian, Idaho; Missoula, Montana; and Spokane and Tri-Cities, Washington.

We are seeking a full-time Geotechnical Engineer to join our Lewiston, Idaho team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare geotechnical proposals and associated fee estimates.
• Perform and/or direct subsurface exploration (via drilling and/or test pit methodology) and evaluate ground conditions and understand their impact on design and construction.
• Conduct geotechnical design and analysis, including shallow and deep foundation design, retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, liquefaction analysis, settlement analysis, and seismic assessments.
• Prepare geotechnical engineering evaluations/reports.
• Lead and mentor junior engineering staff.
• Partner with Area Manager and marking team for business development efforts.

Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or other relevant discipline.
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Oregon, Washington or Idaho or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Five or more years of experience in geotechnical engineering
• Project management experience.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Experience interacting with clients and contractors.
• AutoCAD, Lpile, Settle3D, and Slide experience is a plus.
• Acceptable driving record for insurance purposes.
