Intern- Product

The 10-week Zayo Summer Internship Program is designed to cultivate the next generation of telecommunications professionals. Interns will gain meaningful, hands-on experience within a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative environment. Program Details:

Duration: 10 weeks
Location: Denver-based preferred, based on hiring team’s needs.

 

Zayo is seeking a motivated Product Intern to join our team and work on efficiency projects aimed at automating manual tasks outside of our existing ERP systems (Workday and SFDC). The Product Intern will focus on improving workflows, standardizing processes, and implementing solutions to enhance productivity. This role is ideal for someone passionate about process optimization, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.

 

As a Product Intern, you'll:

  • Gain hands-on experience in process improvement and automation within a corporate environment.
  • Develop skills in project management, problem-solving, and data analysis.
  • Enhance understanding of automation tools and their integration into business processes.
  • Build collaboration and communication skills by working with diverse teams.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current manual workflows and identify inefficiencies in existing processes.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions to streamline tasks, such as:
  • Standardizing candidate questions and scorecards for Workday.
  • Automating other repetitive manual functions agreed upon for the summer projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Create documentation for automated workflows, including process maps, user guides, and training materials.
  • Test and validate automated processes to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Present project updates and final outcomes to stakeholders at the end of the internship.

 

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have completed their sophomore year and be enrolled in a degree or certificate seeking program for the fall semester of 2025. 
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with automation tools (e.g., RPA software) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with team members across various departments.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience or coursework in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean or Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of ERP systems like Workday or SFDC is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) or workflow automation platforms.

 

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. 
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance and 401(k).

Estimated Base Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 USD/hour.
