Purchasing Buyer - Internship

Ryan Herco Flow Solutions is the leading nation-wide distributor of fluid handling products providing ultrapure, corrosion-resistant fluid handling systems and expertise. We sell to a broad base of customers in industries such as electronic component and equipment manufacturers, chemical manufacturers, water & waste treatment, metal finishing, pollution control and life sciences companies. We also serve the construction market through mechanical contractors.

Intern Basic Function:

To oversee and purchase products and materials cost effectively for the branches within the region, while maintaining a balance of inventory in relation to sales.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties to Support RHFS Buyers:

• Purchases and controls inventory of all products for Branch Office.
• Checks stock and replenishes as needed.
• Continually monitors (non-moving) items.
• Accounts for and reacts quickly to all backorders and transfers while maintaining minimal lead time.
• Reviews ROR (Recommended Order Reports) and makes decisions on orders and quantities.
• Line Buy Maintenance follow-up weekly.
• Continually follows strategic inventory plan, watching for trends.
• Scrutinizes transfers and purchase order variances.
• Reconciles Accounts Payable and Purchase Order reports, checking for accuracy.
• Negotiates pricing and maintains relationships with vendors.
• Continually utilizes sourcing techniques to obtain better pricing, material, etc.
• Performs purchase order acknowledgement, follow-up and expediting duties, as necessary.
• Continually maintains relationship with Sales Department.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience on computerized purchasing system• Extremely detail oriented and organized
• Ability to prioritize and make decisions
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Preparing for College degree in Supply Chain Management required

Required Skills:

• Strong math aptitude
• Microsoft Office suit experience computer skills
